Pasture, Pets, or a Pool: One Fence Crew for All of It

A Choctaw fence job can mean six feet of cedar around a quarter-acre backyard or a quarter mile of pipe rail along a horse pasture. Either way, Luke Tiller or one of our estimators comes out, walks the line with you, finds the corner pins, and leaves a written quote with each material and labor item listed separately. City permit paperwork is part of our job. Pick up the phone any hour and dial (405) 784-4424 to set a free fence estimate.

Residential and Rural Fencing Throughout Choctaw

Looking for a fence contractor in Choctaw? Tiller Fence and Deck installs and repairs fencing across this eastern Oklahoma County city, whether the job is a backyard in a newer addition, a corner lot in old town, or several acres that need to hold horses or cattle. We work in cedar, vinyl, galvanized and black chain link, powder-coated aluminum, Ameristar steel, and ranch pipe, and we build walk gates, drive gates and automated openers. The people setting your posts are Tiller employees. We never hand a Choctaw job off to a sub.

Luke Tiller founded this veteran-owned, family-run company in 2006, and he still meets customers on their land and checks on crews mid-project. In 2017 we became The Home Depot’s exclusive fence installer for 16 Oklahoma stores, a contract we continue to hold, which means our installs are held to a national retailer’s standards as well as our own. We carry a current license, a bond, and full insurance, and every fence we build comes with a one-year workmanship guarantee on our labor. No crew leaves a job until the gates swing true and the line is straight.

Choctaw sits in the Cross Timbers, so many lots mix open grass with thick stands of oak, and a fence line often has to bend around trees, creeks and drainage swales. The city’s development code is also unusually specific about how fences are built, down to the post type. We know those rules and plan every layout around them. If you want your backyard screened from the road or from the house next door, ask us to price a cedar privacy fence with galvanized steel posts, or a solid vinyl run that never needs stain.

From Old Town Lots to Fenced Pasture in Choctaw

Nearly every Choctaw address uses the 73020 ZIP, and city limits do not line up perfectly with mail routes, so we confirm which rules apply to each property. South of Reno Avenue, families in Forest Glen and the surrounding newer streets call us for backyard privacy and dog runs, with SE 29th Street as their main route. Toward the southeast, homeowners in Kalidy Landing often want a taller back fence and a wide gate for a trailer. Older houses around the Metro Library on Muzzy Street and City Hall on North Choctaw Road need worn chain link replaced, while the west side near Choctaw Creek Golf Course on Hiwassee Road brings us larger lots with mature trees.

Ground conditions change quickly here. Some lots sit on sandy loam under oak cover, others on red clay that holds water after a spring storm and cracks open by August. Wind rolls across open pasture east of town with little to break it, and hail and ice storms hit every few seasons. We dig deep holes, set galvanized steel posts in concrete, and brace corners and gate posts so a long run stays plumb. On rural tracts we use heavy line posts and H-braces for pipe fencing and field fence, so the wire stays tight when cattle lean on it.

Lot type usually points to the right fence. A cul-de-sac home in a newer addition tends to need six feet of cedar or vinyl across the back with short returns to the house. Corner lots need a layout that respects the sight triangle at the intersection. Older homes near old town often trade sagging chain link for aluminum or wood. Families with pools need a barrier with self-closing gates, big dogs call for a dig guard along the bottom, and acreage owners usually want ranch rail up front with woven wire behind the barn.

The City of Choctaw’s Unified Development Code requires a fence permit before a fence is installed, built, or altered. The code generally caps fences at eight feet, limits fences in a residential front yard to three feet, and keeps fences out of the right-of-way and out of corner sight triangles (30 feet along local streets, 45 feet along arterials). Framing must face the inside, wood fences call for galvanized steel posts in concrete, and barbed or electric wire is reserved for livestock in agricultural zoning. Before any digging, we call OKIE811 to mark buried lines.

Trusted to Install Fences for 16 Home Depot Stores

Since 2017, Tiller has been the crew that builds the installed fences sold through 16 Oklahoma Home Depot stores. When a Choctaw homeowner calls us direct, the same trained installers and the same standards show up in the yard.

Everything We Build in Choctaw

Below are the eight fence services on our Google Business Profile, each one handled by Tiller staff on Choctaw lots and acreage. Open any card for details, or call us and tell us what the fence needs to keep in or out.

Wood Screening

Cedar Privacy Fences

Premium cedar pickets on steel posts set in concrete, the build Choctaw's code favors for wood fences. A six-foot board fence blocks the view from the street or the house behind you, and we can add a top cap or trim board for a finished look.

No Stain Needed

Vinyl Fencing

Privacy, semi-privacy, and picket vinyl with no painting or staining, ever. Reinforced posts are rated for Oklahoma wind, which matters on open Choctaw lots, and white or tan panels stay clean-looking around a pool deck or along a busy road.

Pet Pens

Chain Link Fencing

Galvanized or black vinyl-coated chain link for dog yards, garden plots, side yards, and shops around Choctaw. It keeps sight lines open, costs less per foot than most materials, and holds up for decades with very little attention.

View Chain Link Fencing
Pool Barrier

Aluminum Fencing

Powder-coated aluminum that gives the wrought-iron look without rust. In Choctaw it suits front yards where the code allows only a short fence, and backyard pools that need a see-through barrier with a self-latching gate.

Steel Strength

Ameristar Iron Fencing

Tiller is an Ameristar dealer-installer, so we build pre-galvanized, powder-coated steel fence for Choctaw homes, churches, and commercial sites that need more strength than aluminum offers. Matching walk and drive gates keep the whole perimeter uniform.

Livestock Ready

Farm & Ranch Fencing

Pipe fence, ranch rail, field fence, and custom entry gates for Choctaw acreage and hobby farms. We set heavy posts, brace every corner properly, and stretch wire tight so the fence holds livestock and shrugs off wind across open pasture.

Wide Entries

Custom Gates & Gate Operators

Walk gates, double drive gates, and automated entry systems sized for trucks, trailers, and tractors on Choctaw properties. We also repair or replace gate operators that stall halfway, reverse for no reason, or stop answering the remote.

Fence Repair

Broken pickets, leaning posts, wind-damaged panels, and gates that drag. We inspect your Choctaw fence, tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or a section needs rebuilding, and fix it with our own crew.

Open Ground Takes Hard Wind, So We Brace for It

East of the metro, a spring line of storms can push severe gusts across Choctaw pasture, and ice storms hang weight on every wire and picket. We answer with deeper post holes, galvanized steel posts set in concrete, braced corners and gate posts, and vinyl posts rated for Oklahoma wind. The result is a fence that stays standing after the weather clears.

Fence Feedback From Choctaw Area Homeowners

Here is what recent fence customers have posted on Google about our crews. Once your Choctaw fence is finished, we would appreciate hearing how it went.

★★★★★

I started using Luke and his company 3 years ago. The first project was 40K worth of black 5 foot tall chain link fence. I have continued to use his company every 6 months for more fencing jobs, land clearing and some dirt work. Luke's company has been a pleasant experience in that the work is quality and done on time. He has always followed through with his promises.

Wood or Trex Composite: Choosing Your Deck Material

For a new Oklahoma City deck, the choice between wood and composite mostly comes down to upkeep. Pressure-treated wood typically lasts 15 to 20 years with proper care, while Trex composite is expected to last 25 to 30 years or more and never needs sealing or staining. We handle the permits, and every deck carries a one-year workmanship guarantee.

How to Pick a Fence and Deck Contractor in OKC

Before you sign with anyone, ask four things: are they licensed, bonded, and insured; do their own crews do the work; is there a written workmanship guarantee; and who pulls the permit. Our answers are yes, yes, one year, and us, and every job ends with a walkthrough before the crew leaves.

Repair, Restain, or Replace Your Wood Fence?

A leaning fence or a few bad boards doesn’t always mean starting over. We repair posts and sections when the damage is local, and staining and sealing can add years to a sound fence. When the whole run is failing, we’ll tell you straight that a new fence is the better spend.

Fencing Questions From Choctaw Property Owners

What sets the price of a new fence on a Choctaw lot?

Your fence cost comes down to the number of linear feet, the material, the height, how many gates you need, and how hard the ground is to dig. Slopes, tree roots, and removing an old fence add labor, while long straight runs on acreage lower the cost per foot. Chain link and field fence sit at the lower end, cedar and vinyl in the middle, and ornamental steel higher. We price it all on site, free, in writing.

How many days does a fence install take in Choctaw?

A typical backyard fence in Choctaw takes two to four working days once the permit is approved and OKIE811 has marked the lines. Long pasture runs, automated gates, and custom steel take longer. Concrete needs time to cure before panels or wire go on, and rain can push the schedule. We give you a start date and an expected finish before work begins and keep you posted if weather changes it.

What does Choctaw require for a fence permit, and how tall can it be?

Inside city limits, Choctaw’s Unified Development Code calls for a fence permit before any fence is installed or altered. The code generally limits fences to eight feet, and to three feet inside a residential front yard. Fences cannot sit in the right-of-way or a corner sight triangle, and framing must face inward. Some 73020 addresses are outside the city, so we confirm jurisdiction, then file the permit for you.

Should I pick wood, vinyl, or metal for a Choctaw home?

A wood fence in cedar gives the most privacy for the money and blends with oak-shaded lots, but it needs sealing every few years. A vinyl fence costs more up front and needs only an occasional rinse. Aluminum and Ameristar steel suit pools, front yards, and entries where you want a view. On acreage, pipe or ranch rail usually goes along the road with field fence behind it.

Which Choctaw areas and nearby towns does Tiller fence?

All of Choctaw: old town around Muzzy Street, the additions along NE 10th Street, Forest Glen on the south side, Kalidy Landing to the southeast, and rural tracts on every edge of town. We also build fences in Midwest City, Del City, Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Shawnee. Wherever your property is, the estimate happens on site and costs nothing.
