Pasture, Pool, or Backyard Line, We Price It on Your Ground

An El Reno fence might be forty feet of cedar behind a 1920s bungalow or a half mile of pipe rail around a horse pasture. Either way, the number should come from someone standing on the property. Luke or an estimator drives out from Norman, walks the line, notes gates, slope, and any I-40 frontage, then writes it all down item by item. Call (405) 784-4424 day or night and pick a time for your no-cost El Reno fence visit.

Privacy, Pasture, and Pool Fencing Around El Reno

Looking for a fence contractor in El Reno that sends its own employees instead of a hired-out crew? Tiller Fence and Deck installs new fences, tears out worn ones, and fixes damaged runs for homeowners, ranchers, and businesses across El Reno. We leave our Norman yard early and head west on I-40, so distance is our problem to solve, not yours. Most calls here involve cedar privacy, vinyl, galvanized or black chain link, ornamental aluminum, Ameristar steel, pipe and field fence for livestock, and electric gate openers.

Luke Tiller, a veteran, opened the company with his family in 2006, and he still measures many yards himself and stops by active jobs. Beginning in 2017, we became The Home Depot’s exclusive fence installer across 16 Oklahoma stores, which means our post spacing and finish work are held to a national retailer’s standards in addition to our own. Tiller is a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor. For one full year after we finish, any workmanship problem on your fence gets corrected without a labor charge.

El Reno is part county seat, part farm town, and the fences reflect that. Brick storefront blocks and early 1900s houses sit a few minutes from wheat ground and cattle pasture, and the city even has its own rule about privacy fences that back up to the interstate. We sort out those details before you see a price. If you want a neighbor’s yard, a busy road, or a dog run screened from view, ask us to quote a six-foot cedar privacy fence or a vinyl equivalent.

From the Rock District to Canadian County Pasture

Close to the Canadian County Courthouse on North Choctaw, the Rock District and the older streets around it hold narrow lots, alleys, and fences that have been patched for decades. A short drive north, homes near Burton Park and Frank Knight Park mix postwar ranch houses with bigger shade trees. On the west side, streets around Memorial Stadium on Sunset Drive have wider yards, while Rinehart Park’s trail sits behind a neighborhood near the hotels and stores off South Country Club Road. Town lots and many nearby farm roads alike get their mail under ZIP 73036, so we size up each fence by the ground itself, not the address.

El Reno sits high on open prairie south of the North Canadian River, and very little stands between a fence line and a spring squall line. Long days of south wind, straight-line gusts, hail, and the occasional ice storm all test a fence here. Oklahoma red clay holds water after heavy rain, then cracks open in August, which slowly loosens shallow posts. We go deeper with our holes, put steel posts in concrete under cedar, add reinforcement inside vinyl posts, and brace corners, ends, and gate frames so long runs stay plumb after a rough season.

The right fence depends on the lot. A town lot in the older grid often needs black chain link or cedar along an alley, with a gate wide enough for a mower. Newer subdivisions on the southwest side tend to call for a six-foot privacy run with returns to the house, and many come with covenants on style and which face points out. Corner lots need an open, lower look toward the street. Pool owners want aluminum with self-closing gates, dog owners want snug bottoms, and acreage around town calls for pipe rail, field fence, and stout H-braces.

El Reno’s zoning code generally caps residential fences at four feet in a front yard and six feet along side and rear yards, measured above grade, with eight feet allowed in agricultural districts. Front-yard fences taller than 30 inches have to be designed so they do not materially block the view across the yard. The code also bars privacy fences next to the I-40 right-of-way unless a homeowners association builds and maintains them. The city uses a fence permit application with a site plan showing lot lines, easements, and utilities, and we always call OKIE811 to mark buried lines before digging.

Cedar Privacy Fences

Premium cedar pickets on steel posts set in concrete, so a six-foot run holds its line through El Reno's spring wind. Pick side-by-side or board-on-board, then add a cap and trim for a finished top. Once the wood seasons, a clear sealer helps it hold color.

Vinyl Fencing

Vinyl in privacy, semi-privacy, and picket profiles that never asks for paint or stain. Our reinforced posts are rated for Oklahoma wind, a real concern on bare El Reno lots with no tree cover. Rinse it with a hose a couple of times a year and it looks new.

Chain Link Fencing

Galvanized or black vinyl-coated chain link for dog yards, alley lines, rental houses, and commercial lots around El Reno. It costs less per foot than most materials, leaves sight lines open, and holds up for decades. We also pull out rusted wire and replace it.

Aluminum Fencing

Powder-coated aluminum delivers the classic wrought-iron look with nothing to rust or repaint. In El Reno it suits backyard pool enclosures, decorative front-yard fences kept to the four-foot limit, and open views across a field or pond.

Heavy-Duty Steel

Ameristar Iron Fencing

Tiller is an Ameristar dealer-installer, offering pre-galvanized, powder-coated steel that outlasts lighter ornamental fence. El Reno businesses, churches, and homeowners choose it for a secure perimeter that still looks sharp, often with matching walk and drive gates.

Gate Automation

Custom Gates & Gate Operators

Walk gates and driveway gates built to fit your fence, along with automated entry using a keypad, remote, or both. On El Reno acreage with a long drive, a powered gate saves trips in bad weather. We also repair or replace operators that have stopped working.

How an El Reno Fence Goes From Call to Gate

Our own people carry every El Reno fence job from the first phone call to the last swing of the gate. Here are the five steps, and nothing is passed off to subcontractors.

01

Call or Send the Form

Reach us at (405) 784-4424 at any hour, or use the form near the top of this page. We book a time to visit your El Reno home or acreage, and the estimate is free.

02

Walk the Line, Then Quote

We measure every run, look for property pins, note easements and slope, and ask whether an HOA or covenant applies. Your written quote breaks out materials, labor, gates, and haul-off separately.

03

Settle Style and Height

Choose cedar, vinyl, chain link, aluminum, steel, or ranch fence, then decide on height and gate locations. We explain which choices stay within El Reno's height limits and how each handles prairie wind.

04

Mark Utilities and Set Posts

We file the city fence permit, request an OKIE811 locate, then dig and set posts in concrete. Rails, pickets, panels, or wire go up only after the concrete has cured.

05

Final Walk and Cleanup

We walk the finished fence with you, open and close each gate, and adjust anything that is not right. Old fencing and scrap leave with us, and your one-year guarantee begins.

Industry Recognition That Travels to El Reno

Word of mouth from satisfied customers drives most of our work. When trade groups and partners recognize Tiller Fence and Deck, that credit belongs to the same installers who set posts and hang gates for El Reno families.

Squall Lines Cross El Reno Before They Reach the Metro

Spring storms often build over western Oklahoma and roll across El Reno with nothing in the way. Downbursts can flatten a weak panel fence, and hail punches through thin pickets. That is why we put steel posts under cedar, use reinforced posts rated for Oklahoma wind in vinyl, and brace every gate frame. If a storm already did damage, we will give you a straight answer on repair or replacement.

Fence Customer Reviews for El Reno Area Homeowners

Here is what fence customers have written about Tiller on Google. After your El Reno fence is finished, we would appreciate hearing how the job went for you.

★★★★★

Needed our whole backyard fencing replaced so I did my due diligence and researched several fence companies. Tiller Fence came back with a reasonable quote so I decided to give them the shot, and boy, I'm glad I did! Matt and his crew were absolutely great! Friendly, professional, thorough and quick. The project consisted of 6' side fences and 8' back fences with tapers on each side and it looks wonderful! Luke was a pleasure to deal with and I can't recommend Tiller Fence enough.

Wood or Trex Composite: Choosing Your Deck Material

For a new Oklahoma City deck, the choice between wood and composite mostly comes down to upkeep. Pressure-treated wood typically lasts 15 to 20 years with proper care, while Trex composite is expected to last 25 to 30 years or more and never needs sealing or staining. We handle the permits, and every deck carries a one-year workmanship guarantee.

How to Pick a Fence and Deck Contractor in OKC

Before you sign with anyone, ask four things: are they licensed, bonded, and insured; do their own crews do the work; is there a written workmanship guarantee; and who pulls the permit. Our answers are yes, yes, one year, and us, and every job ends with a walkthrough before the crew leaves.

A leaning fence or a few bad boards doesn’t always mean starting over. We repair posts and sections when the damage is local, and staining and sealing can add years to a sound fence. When the whole run is failing, we’ll tell you straight that a new fence is the better spend.

El Reno Fence Questions, Answered Plainly

What decides the price of a new fence on an El Reno property?

Your fence cost is mostly a function of linear footage, height, and material. Chain link and cedar usually price lower per foot than vinyl, aluminum, or Ameristar steel. Gates, corner and end posts, slopes, removing an old fence, and hauling it away all add labor. On acreage, long pipe or field fence runs follow different math. After we measure, you receive an itemized written quote for your El Reno property.

How many days will my El Reno fence installation take?

Most residential fences in El Reno take a few working days on site once materials arrive and the city permit is approved. Concrete has to cure around the posts before boards, panels, or fabric go on, and wet weather can move the start date. Long ranch runs, gate operators, and HOA reviews add time. We give you a realistic schedule up front and keep you updated while the crew works.

Is a permit needed for a fence in El Reno, and what height is allowed?

The City of El Reno uses a fence permit application that asks for a site plan with lot lines, easements, utilities, and the fence location. The zoning code generally limits residential fences to four feet in front yards and six feet in side and rear yards, with eight feet in agricultural districts, and it restricts privacy fences along I-40. Properties outside city limits follow county rules, so we confirm jurisdiction first and handle the filing.

Cedar, vinyl, or metal: which fence makes sense for an El Reno home?

A wood fence in cedar gives full privacy at a friendly starting price and suits older homes near downtown, though it needs a sealer every few years. A vinyl fence costs more at first but never needs paint, and our reinforced posts stand up on windy, open lots. Aluminum and Ameristar steel fit pools, front yards, and places where you want security without losing the view. We can price two choices side by side.

Which parts of El Reno do you cover, and which nearby towns?

We work all over El Reno, including the Rock District and older grid downtown, the north-side streets by Burton Park, the west side near Memorial Stadium, and farm and ranch land around town. Our crews also fence properties in the separate cities of Yukon, Piedmont, Mustang, Bethany, and Warr Acres. Wherever you are, we come to you for the free estimate.
